This car was first owned by Rolls-Royce and was their demonstration car
in the South of France from 1926 to 1930. It was then purchased by Lord
Howard of Glossop who converted the car into a six-light sedanca. His
Lordship used the car until 1936 and it was then sold into the "carriage
trade". In early 1940 the car was requisitioned by the London Fire
Brigade and is served with the Fire Brigade throughout the Second World
War. At the end of the war, the car was purchased by an RAF officer and
it had a large number of RAF owners over a relatively short period. The
car was extensively restored by Richard Lake in the 1960s/seventies. This
car has been in the present ownership for 15 years.
